Accounts Payable Clerk

As an Area Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll be a key player in supporting vendor and supplier processes, ensuring invoices and payments are handled with precision and timeliness. Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee’s leading hotel ownership and management company, proudly operates two of the city’s most iconic properties: The Pfister Hotel, a recently renovated historic luxury landmark; and Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, a dynamic and creative hub for arts and events. Together, these properties offer 1,255 guest rooms, over 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space and several restaurant outlets.
What you will be doing:
· Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and AP processes
· Follow established protocols for all accounts payable procedures
· Verify invoice data using AP automation tools, Excel, and manual review
· Enter invoices in There4 and archive scanned documents
· Use Adobe software to split and organize multi-page invoice PDFs
· Research and resolve vendor invoice or payment discrepancies
· Communicate issues to supervisors and support continuous process improvement
· Provide professional customer service to internal teams and external vendors
· Other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
· High school diploma or equivalent; 1–3 years of hospitality experience preferred (front desk, F&B, accounting, or admin)
· Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis, data entry, documentation, and handling confidential information
· Proficient in Excel, Adobe and Outlook
· Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with accuracy
· Strong critical thinking, project management, auditing, delegation, and training skills
· Excellent communication, organization, and time management; able to multitask and interact professionally with vendors and staff
· Willing to travel between downtown Milwaukee locations and work flexible hours; knowledge of sales and use tax laws preferred
