Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Sales to be part of our team as we expand our portfolio. The Lofton Hotel is a downtown Minneapolis, full-service, $15M revenue property and the first hotel in the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Minnesota. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars, we are connected to the whole of downtown by the interior Minneapolis Skyway, covering 80 city blocks and including the Target Center across the street, home of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Target Field is a five-minute walk, and The North Loop and U.S Bank Stadium are only a mile away. Our spacious guest rooms and suites provide spectacular city views.

Step into the dynamic role of Assistant Director of Sales, where you will spearhead the exhilarating pursuit of local, national, and global accounts across diverse market segments, while you orchestrate unforgettable experiences highlighted by group room blocks, meetings, breakouts, and culinary delights.

What you will be doing:

·       Account prospecting, solicitation, and development of assigned markets via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication.

·       Conduct hotel site inspections, entertain both in house and off property while maintaining thorough follow up to secure business.

·       Represent hotel at trade shows, civic/business functions, industry-related associations, reservation centers, and other events to promote the hotel and/or the city. Active participation in at least one (1) client-focused industry association.

·       Prepare and present proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, and professional manner. Maintain accurate Delphi and any paper files from prospecting and/or incoming group accounts.

·       Attend meetings including, but not limited to, pre-convention, business review and departmental.

·       Assist with the mentoring, supporting and managing of other sales team members and associates.

What we are looking for:

·       Proficient computer knowledge.

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

·       Effectively communicate with clients, guests, fellow associates, department heads and corporate leadership.

·       Basic mathematical skills to prepare cost proposals.

·       Willing to travel on a limited basis when needed.

·       Ability to effectively market meeting space.

·       Flexibility to work occasional varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

·       Strong knowledge of the designated market(s).

·       Accurate knowledge of competition.
