What will you be doing?
· Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring proper staffing and training.
· Collaborate with the General Manager and supervise departmental performance.
· Enforce safety standards and compliance with OSHA, lockout/tagout, and company policies.
· Maintain, operate, and repair building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
· Support guest requests and assist with hotel-wide projects and repairs.
· Ensure routine maintenance and inspections are completed and compliant.
· Manage departmental schedules, payroll, supply requisitions, and financial processes.
· Recruit, train, develop, and discipline engineering team members.
· Lead monthly departmental meetings and training sessions.
· Represent the department in hotel meetings and foster collaboration across all teams.
What do you bring to the role?
· Prior supervisory and/or management experience in an engineering or maintenance environment required.
· Must be able to read and interpret documents to include: Blueprints/Schematics, Procedural manuals, Budgets/Financial Statements, OSHA standards such as LockOut/TagOut, SDS, etc.
· Possess ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain:
o Physical building to include all FF&E
o A/C and refrigeration equipment
o Electrical systems
o Mechanical equipment (i.e. motors, starters, pumps, fans, etc.)
o Plumbing and drains
o Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
o Fire Alarm and Life Safety equipment
· Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have computer proficiency.
· Analytical skills in order to be able to assess and identify problems and then implement solutions.
· Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
· Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
· Must be able to work any of the three shifts, as needed. Available to take calls and respond to emergency situations as required.
