The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall guest experience throughout our hotel.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of creating a clean, safe, and inviting environment for guests and associates alike.
As a Public Area Attendant, you will play a key role in maintaining public spaces, guest-facing areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, offices, fitness areas, and other locations throughout the hotel while supporting our commitment to exceptional service.

Pay & Schedule
· Starting at $16/hour
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
- Typical Schedule: 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Some weekends & holidays required based on business needs
- Additional flexibility may be needed during peak occupancy periods
What You'll Do
As a Public Area Attendant, you'll help ensure every area of the hotel remains clean, safe, organized, and guest-ready throughout the day.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all assigned public and back-of-house areas
• Vacuum, dust, mop, and remove trash throughout the property
• Clean and restock public restrooms as needed
• Maintain fitness center, pool area, lobby, hallways, meeting spaces, and other public areas
• Clean entrance doors, glass surfaces, and other guest-facing areas
• Assist with cleaning restaurants, bars, lounges, offices, and event spaces as needed
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate requests
• Monitor hotel spaces for cleanliness, safety concerns, and maintenance issues
• Report maintenance or repair needs to Housekeeping leadership
• Ensure housekeeping storage areas and closets remain clean, organized, and secure
• Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Support special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning initiatives
• Promote safe work practices and follow all hotel safety standards
• Communicate effectively with Housekeeping leadership and other departments
• Attend department meetings and assist with other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a team member who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys creating positive guest experiences through cleanliness and attention to detail.
Ideal candidates will have:
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to communicate professionally with guests and associates
• Dependability and punctuality
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as business needs require
