What will you be doing?

§  Responsible for daily preparation and balancing of cash and gift card transactions

o   Controls house fund of each property including all banks issued to managers and associates along with petty cash distributions/reimbursements and change orders

o   Communicate, document and retain cash handling policies and contracts presented to associates upon issuance of banks

o   Performs regular change order for all shifts and maintains proper denominations in central fund

o   Responsible for a working knowledge of the daily accounting reporting, property management systems, and all point of sales systems as they pertain to settlement transactions

o   Liaison to associates for questions / challenges with cash handling responsibilities

o   Audit all cashiers banks as defined by accounting policies

§  Provide reporting of variances with cash and gift card transactions; communicating immediately to accounting management of significant variances

§  Provide reporting of variances with credit card transactions; communicating immediately to accounting management of significant variances

§  Audit and reconcile all property vending (i.e. ATM, laundry machines, vending machines)

§  Ensure that Audit Trail is evident throughout all tasks

§  Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders (i.e. executives / managers, associates, etc) 

§  Maintain electronic files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices to include time-keeping, tip allocation, general payroll deductions, petty cash, cash handling contracts, etc

§  Monthly closing duties to include but not limited to participation in inventories, production of all entities accruals and research as needed by accounting management and / or department heads

§  A commitment to follow all local and corporate accounting policies and procedures

§  Identify, present and assist with the installation of approved Systems & Controls process improvements

§  Assist with preparation and presentation of training documentation

§  Complete various management reports, accounting tasks/duties as requested by  management within deadlines provided

 

What are we looking for?

§  High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred

§  2+ years of cashier experience

§  Regular travel between downtown Milwaukee locations

§  Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

§  Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

§  Must have strong work ethics, be well organized and a self-starter

§  Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills

§  Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet business deadlines

§  Willingness to assist in other accounting functions as assigned
