Assistant Restaurant Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
Support the restaurant in ensuring all guests’ needs are consistently exceeded by assisting with the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and related outlets. This includes helping to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, upholding cleanliness and service standards, and ensuring a seamless and elevated dining experience through effective team support and guest interaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and supervising restaurant staff. Support the Director of Operations in conducting pre-shift meetings and communicating updates such as menu changes, service standards, and staffing needs.
- Foster meaningful guest interactions by being present on the floor, assisting with service when needed, and ensuring guest concerns are resolved promptly and professionally.
- Monitor the performance and presentation of the restaurant, bar, In-Room Dining, and Club Lounge, ensuring standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness are upheld at all times.
- Participate in regular one-on-one check-ins with team members to provide support, deliver feedback, and help resolve operational or interpersonal issues.
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and daily task delegation to ensure consistent staffing and smooth service flow.
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels, receiving supplies, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain and reconcile the house bank as needed, and ensure proper cash handling and POS procedures are followed.
- Understand key financial documents such as the P&L statement, and provide input to optimize labor and operational efficiency.
- Operate and assist in troubleshooting POS and back-office systems; ensure staff is trained in using the systems correctly.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of personal appearance, professionalism, and team morale.
- Help implement sales initiatives, promotions, and employee incentive programs to drive revenue and engagement.
- Manage assigned administrative tasks such as payroll input, shift reports, email correspondence, and service tracking.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–2 years of experience in Food & Beverage operations, preferably in a supervisory or lead server role.
- Strong basic math and analytical skills for handling inventory, scheduling, and financial data.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform tasks in fast-paced restaurant and kitchen environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve guest and staff concerns with diplomacy and professionalism.
- High school diploma required; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), familiarity with POS systems, and the ability to learn new software.
Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a collaborative attitude.
