As a Banquet Captain at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you will manage and oversee an efficient and friendly banquet department while delivering superior guest services.

What will you be doing?
- Maintain high service standards for all guests and ensure banquet events run smoothly and on time.
- Communicate closely with the Banquet Manager daily about changes and special needs related to events.
- Assign duties and stations, and supervise point servers during shifts.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of both front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
- Set up rooms accurately according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO), verify staff presence, and report any shortages to the manager.
- Collaborate with kitchen, stewarding, and beverage staff on special requests, timing, and equipment needs.
- Handle and resolve any issues that arise, ensuring guest expectations are exceeded.
- Oversee staff training and complete necessary paperwork and reports promptly, while adhering to safety protocols and completing opening and closing duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the role?
- A high school diploma is preferred, along with relevant education, training, or experience in hospitality and cash handling.
- Obtain any necessary government licenses or certifications, such as a Bartender's License, and complete all required banquet department training.
- Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times.
- Possess basic math skills for operating a cash register, making change, totaling guest checks, and understanding portion sizes.
- Effectively handle and resolve conflicts, such as inaccurate meal counts or shortages of food and equipment and remain calm under stress.
- Communicate effectively in English to understand menus and special requests and to interact with guests.
- Organize tasks and coordinate with associates for efficient work production.
- Perform physical activities like standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, pushing up to 200 lbs, and working in fast-paced, noisy, and potentially confining environments.
