The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace is seeking a results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts and deliver exceptional results. In this role, you'll take charge of identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with our valued clients. Your strategic approach will maximize revenue across group bookings, business travel, and catering services. Additionally, you'll mentor and inspire a high-performing sales team, driving consistent success. As a key member of the Executive Committee, your insights and leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping the hotel's strategic vision.

What will you be doing?

  • Prospect and develop accounts through diverse communication channels.
  • Coordinate site visits, entertain clients, and ensure thorough follow-up.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows and events for enhanced visibility.
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals, contracts, and presentations.
  • Supervise staff, assist in training, and set performance goals.
  • Coordinate event details, ensure guest satisfaction, and oversee setups.
  • Provide regular reports, attend meetings, and handle additional responsibilities as required.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Previous hospitality/hotel sales leadership experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office and business acumen related to inventory distribution and revenue dynamics.
  • Possess a dynamic sales approach and is confident and motivated to drive hospitality sales success.
  • Proven sales & negotiation skills with the ability to close deals, network, and market hotel offerings effectively.
  • Previous experience with and possess the ability to maintain accurate records, provide strategic client management, finalize contracts, track leads, multitask, and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Be goal-oriented & data-driven; ability to meet or exceed budgetary goals, and stay informed on market trends. 
  • Offer a polished image, adhere to business etiquette, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrate strong internal and external written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to travel for outside and local sales calls, participate in industry and community events, and maintain a flexible schedule to meet hotel business needs.
