Dishwashing Supervisor
The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for assisting with directing work assignments for Stewarding department staff. and assisting in the transport and cleaning of cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, bus persons, and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests' dining experience. They will also ensure the cleaning of physical surroundings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Is able to perform duties of all positions in the department.
2. Understands and supervises proper use of all chemicals and cleaning equipment.
3. Effectively trains new associates in all positions.
4. Delegates daily work assignments and responsibilities.
5. Communicates effectively with staff and other departments.
6. Completes daily opening and closing checklists and performs safety and sanitation inspections.
7. Drives Hotel catering truck, and pickups in city and on highway.
8. Performs general/routine cleaning tasks using standard resort cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
9. Clean and dry floors to avoid slip/fall accidents.
10. Moves supplies / equipment, assists with clean up of spills, completes various miscellanous tasks
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain same in order to compliment guest experience.
2. Ability to push/pull service carts weighing up to 150 lbs.
3. Ability to read the English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials. Basic Spanish comprehension is also required.
4. Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room.
5. Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs.
6. Prior stewarding and/or supervisory experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
