We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Food & Beverage to join our leadership team and help elevate the personalized service, memorable dining experiences, and exceptional hospitality that have established HOTEL PASEO as one of the Coachella Valley’s premier luxury destinations. In this key leadership role, you will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all Food & Beverage outlets and culinary operations across the hotel. As a valued member of the Executive Committee, you will lead initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction, drive innovation, maximize revenue opportunities, and improve operational efficiency.

Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. Guests can unwind by our resort-style pool and on-site spa, explore the area on complimentary bicycles, and enjoy inspired dining at Larkspur Grill, Lemon Drop Pool Bar or Café Paseo. Located along world-renowned El Paseo, our boutique hotel places guests steps from premier shopping, art galleries, acclaimed restaurants, and vibrant nightlife while serving as the perfect gateway to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.  

What will you be doing?

  • Lead all Food & Beverage operations to deliver exceptional guest satisfaction, food quality, and service standards.
  • Drive associate engagement, retention, succession planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense control.
  • Develop and execute pricing, product, service, and revenue strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor industry and market trends to identify opportunities for operational and competitive improvements.
  • Analyze guest feedback and satisfaction data to implement continuous service enhancements.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory controls, vendor relationships, and asset protection to optimize costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, hygiene, and operational standards and policies.
  • Recruit, train, coach, evaluate, and lead Food & Beverage and culinary teams to achieve performance goals.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and departments to support strategic planning and overall hotel success.

What do you bring to the role?

  • 5+ years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience, including at least 3 years in an executive-level role within high-volume hotel, restaurant, catering, or resort environments
  • Experience in full-service hotels preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including service standards, culinary and beverage programs, and food safety
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls, forecasting, inventory controls, revenue performance, and capital expenditures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and POS systems
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of local market trends and competitive landscape
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Dependable and adaptable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary Estimate: $115,000 - $125,000/year
