As a Desk Attendant at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring smooth communication, organization, and prompt guest and associate service.

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976.

What you will be doing:

·         Welcome and assist associates and guests in person and over the phone with professionalism and courtesy.

·         Answer telephones, take accurate messages, and follow through on inquiries.

·         Prepare and review departmental reports for morning and evening staff.

·         Assign daily room credits and responsibilities to housekeeping staff.

·         Supervise daily departmental 'focus' tasks and ensure completion of rotational cleaning projects.

·         Monitor inventory of supplies and ensure availability for guest and team needs.

·         Manage and update guest room status changes, ensuring accuracy for housekeeping and front office teams.

·         Communicate with Engineering to track rooms out of order and update status.

·         Maintain organization of employee uniforms, closets, and office areas.

·         Operate washers and dryers for linens, uniforms, and other items as needed.

·         Coordinate and prioritize guest requests, including VIP accommodations.

·         Manage HotSOS system entries, assignments, and escalations to ensure timely guest service.

·         Supervise and issue communication devices (iPods, radios) to team members.

·         Support the housekeeping team with clerical tasks, paperwork, and communication.

·         Complete daily reports, including DND and turndown service assignments.

·         Assist with light housekeeping duties when needed.

·         Attend required departmental meetings and contribute to improving processes.

·         Perform other duties as requested by leadership.

Position Requirements:

·         High school diploma preferred.

·         Previous clerical and/or customer service experience preferred.

·         Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

·         Proficiency with computers and basic software; HotSOS experience a plus.

·         Excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills.

·         Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

·         Must adhere to the Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option for union membership after 90 days.

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Pay Rate: $17.53 per hour
