POSITION PURPOSE:

To assist in the effective leadership and direction of the lounge bar operations of our existing and planned establishments in reference to quality, service, supervision of associates, monitor quality and consistency of food production, cost control, and inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Development of outlet menus to promote atmosphere of the establishment. This should consider cost, demand and efficiency of products used to create the beverage.
  2. Create standard ingredient recipes for mixing, garnishing, and presentation of drinks while practicing sensible portion control.
  3. Train bartenders on proper etiquette and techniques when executing beverage orders.
  4. Maintain proper bar set-up on a daily basis. Complete requisitions to stock all beer, wine, spirits, drink accessories, and garnishes based on projections from the daily function sheet.
  5. Oversee stocking, cutting and storage of all fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure that products are of fresh.
  6. Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests in the bar & lounge area. Attend to their needs while promoting in-house specials. This includes any guest request or unanticipated need.
  7. Serve food and beverage items to guests in the restaurant and hotel outlets as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. See that the cleanliness of bar and guest areas are maintained throughout shift. Assign and assist with general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  9. Use point of sale system to enter all guest orders taken by self or other servers. Ensure that a check is created for each beverage to account for all products served throughout service.
  10. Receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit card, or room charge. Make change as needed.
  11. Lock up and store all food, beverage, and other equipment.
  12. Maintain proper balance of house bank, deposits cash drops, and secure bank.
  13. Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
  14. Other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guest.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be 19 years of age or older to server alcohol.
  2. Must have knowledge of preparation and service of various food & alcoholic beverages.

 

  1. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
  2. Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  4. Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
  5. Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
  6. Ability to operate a keyboard and perform point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
  7. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
  8. Previous bartending experience required.
  9. Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.  Bartending certificate preferred
