As a Hotel Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of all building systems and equipment. Under the guidance of the Chief Engineer your primary responsibility will be to conduct both routine and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and uphold the hotel's operational efficiency. This position requires flexibility in scheduling as the hotel operates 24/7.

What will you be doing?

  • Generate daily shift reports to document maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a detailed Engineer's log to track and prioritize maintenance requests.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and procedures.
  • Preserve the interior and exterior of the building through regular upkeep and repairs.
  • Foster positive guest and associate relations by promptly and courteously responding to their requests.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E).
  • Support cost control efforts related to utilities such as heat, power, light, sewer, and water.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various systems including:
    • Building structures and FF&E
    • Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, fans, generators, chillers)
    • Plumbing and drainage systems
    • Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
  • Represent the hotel with professionalism and uphold its reputation in all interactions.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

What do you bring to the role?

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry is required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Capability to work independently and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
