TITLE & SHIFT: Server Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE
This position will have supervisor oversight in the Miller Time Pub / Grill.
Ensuring that all guests needs are consistently met or exceeded by maintaining all aspects of the restaurant including; cleanliness, food and beverage quality, and meeting hotel service standards.  Providing a reputation of prestigious service resulting in high satisfaction ratings, and increasing new and returning guests. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ability to perform all dining room positions including server, expeditor/food runner, busser, and host.
2. Supervise staff and dining room in managers absence.
3. Assist with on-going training to ensure standards are being met.
4. Interact positively with customers and promote Miller Time Pub / Grill, as well as hotel facilities and services. 
5. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. 
6. Organize special events in the restaurant such as receptions.
7. Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.  Verify temperature, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality.  Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
8. Maintain profitability of outlet to support hotel operations.  Control payroll and equipment costs.  Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies.
9. Utilize POS system to accurately charge customers, track revenue reports and ensure timeliness of food and beverage service.  Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using complex series of keypunches to program system.
10. Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and self-image with yourself as well as subordinates.
11. Administer sales promotion programs and employee sales incentive programs.
12. Be knowledgeable about competition and keep current with industry trends.
13. Direct and coordinate the activities of all assigned associates and departmental responsibilities in the restaurant.
14. Support Miller Time Pub / Grill and Hotel policies and procedures.
15. Maintain house bank.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
17. Learning, completing and executing the Cicerone Certified Beer Server program requiring the extensive online and classroom training followed by the 60 question exam.
18. Checks and maintains proper set-up and cleanliness of Miller Time Pub / Grill front of the house and heart of the house areas.
19. Must learn all menu items and the ability to understand the pairing of the beer with those menu items.
20. Takes orders, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested, requires memorization of all available drinks, beer, and taps.
21. Ensure Table Touches are met with Guest to inquire about satisfaction.
22. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special Guest and/or General Manager requests.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to read the English language, to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, and reservations.
2. To supervise staff in a professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction using Miller Time Pub / Grill, Marriott and Marcus standards.
3. Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing proactive solutions.
4. High school diploma required.
5. Previous restaurant and hospitality knowledge, skills, abilities and experience is a plus.
6. At least 1-2 Years prior Supervisory Experience required.
7. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
8. Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
9. Ability to transport trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift, as needed.
10. Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
11. Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift.
12. Cash handling and self-banking position, requires ability to maintain funds, and accurately count back change.
13. Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
