Restaurant Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
Ensure that all guests’ needs are exceeded by maintaining all aspects of the restaurant, outlets, and banquets department. This includes enhancing the dining experience through making meaningful connections, overall atmosphere, meeting cleanliness standards, and going above guest expectations at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline F&B staff. Organize and conduct pre-shift and monthly departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes. Schedule and direct staff in their work assignment.
- Interact with customers to promote hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Monitor restaurant, In Room Dining, Club Lounge and kitchen areas. Take action when necessary to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Check preparation methods, judge appearance and taste of products to determine quality. Give suggestions for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
- Control payroll and equipment costs. Ensure stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies.
- Maintain house bank.
- Ability to understand financial documents (included the P&L statement) and make operations changes as necessary.
- Utilize POS computer to accurately charge customers and generate revenue reports. Understand computer systems in order to learn complex series of keypunches to program system in necessary.
- Implement and maintain cleanliness standards in all areas.
- Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and self-image with yourself as well as subordinates.
- Administering sales promotions programs and employee sales incentive programs.
- Daily tracking of emails, payroll, Q times, post shifts and other assigned duties.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with Food & Beverage operations
- Basic math skills in order to track inventory, revenue, payroll, etc.
- Ability to work entire shift standing and moving about in restaurants, banquet, and kitchen areas.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English language, to understand internal documents, and to interact effectively with guests and employees.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse emotions, collect accurate information and resolve.
· High school diploma required. College degree not required but equal work experience required.
- Additional language ability preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint helpful, Outlook, and POS systems.
