Staff Accountant
Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Central Accounting Office team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this opportunity will be responsible for components of the monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting for various operating entities within the Marcus Hotels & Resorts division.

This opportunity is based out of our corporate office in downtown Milwaukee and requires in office presence.
What you will be doing:
- Actively support the month-end financial close for a portfolio of operating entities, including preparing and issuing periodic financial statements, tax returns and supporting schedules required by SOX, ownership groups, municipalities, and various management or other agreements.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying, researching and resolving any discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Partner with management company executives, property accounting teams and Central Accounting to address all finance and accounting matters, including identifying and implementing solutions that improve operational performance.
- Develop operational analysis and insights that support business decision-making.
- Work closely with property controllers, accounting staff and operations teams to ensure effective controls, processes and procedures are in place to: (a) maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and (b) produce accurate and timely financial information and (c) support the development and implementation of efficiencies.
- Act as a consistent and reliable financial resource by providing subject matter expertise.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–3 years of accounting/finance experience; hospitality, real estate, or service‑industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of financial statement presentation, GAAP concepts, and enterprise-level accounting systems (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to think critically, embrace AI technologies, and recommend process improvements to enhance automation and reporting efficiency.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective working both independently and in a team, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building abilities and the ability to partner with individuals at all organizational levels; detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work on-site at the corporate office five (5) days a week.

Salary Estimate: $65,000-$75,000/year
