Cocktail Server
We’re seeking a skilled Part-Time Cocktail Server to join our team in the reopening of the River Center Market’s Upper Bar under the new management of Marcus Hotels & Resorts. In this role, you’ll blend style, skill, and service to create unforgettable moments, one handcrafted cocktail at a time. Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s Theater District inside the iconic Associated Bank Tower, the River Center Market sits at the crossroads of arts, finance, business, tourism, and dining. Overlooking the Milwaukee River, the Upper Bar offers sweeping city and river views, serving craft cocktails, fine wines, and premium spirits in a vibrant, sophisticated setting.
What will you be doing?
- Greet guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explain all specials and promotions.
- Take orders, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested, requires memorization of all available drinks.
- Input orders into point of sale system and inform bartender an order was made in a timely manner.
- Present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return, so they will frequent the restaurant again.
- Keep guest tables and floors clean. Assist with bar area organization and overall cleanliness.
- Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction regularly.
- Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the role?
- Prior cocktail service experience preferred; must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, including spirits, beer, wine, and trending liquors.
- Ability to memorize and promote menu items and specials.
- Proficient in English for menu comprehension, promotions, and guest communication.
- Ability to carry and transport trays up to 40 lbs. through crowded areas for the duration of a shift.
- Skilled in operating POS systems for order entry and payment processing.
- Must obtain and maintain all required licenses or certifications (bartender certifications preferred).
- Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong guest service skills with the ability to work under pressure in high-volume environments.
