Upper Bar Bartender
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Set up the bar daily, ensuring proper stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper goods, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce, based on daily function projections.
· Cut, prepare, and store fresh fruit garnishes, juices, and other perishables each shift to maintain peak quality.
· Greet guests warmly, take and record drink orders, and prepare beverages to standard recipes with proper garnish and portion control.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area, following personal hygiene standards.
· Accurately track all products served using the POS system and consumption documentation.
· Accurately balance the POS system at the end of each shift.
· Comply with all state, federal, and corporate liquor laws, including those regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests.
· Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Some bartending experience required, must have basic knowledge of beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
· Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate. Bartending certificate/license required.
· Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a register.
· Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers and to communicate with guests and take orders.
· Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
· Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
· Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
· Ability to operate a keyboard and perform point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
· Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
